How working out supercharges your sex life!

The last time someone asked me about the pillars of my coaching, aside from the classics—train, eat well, and sleep well—I added "an active sex life." The person in front of me started laughing.

I could keep it simple and say that the fitter you are, the more people you'll attract. Or, if you already have a partner, the fitter you are, the more attractive you'll appear to them. While that's true, it's just the tip of the iceberg.

The benefits of an active sex life are incredible, and the benefits that regular exercise brings to your sex life are equally impressive. I hope you see where this is going: every time I explain something on this blog, you get the hint that being fit isn’t just about looking good. Fitness encompasses a range of interconnected areas.

We're going to explore the three main areas affected by regular exercise that impact your sexual activity.

Physical Benefits.

Engaging in regular physical exercise has profound effects on various bodily functions, significantly enhancing your sex life. Improved blood circulation is a primary benefit; this is crucial for sexual arousal and performance, as it helps in maintaining erections in men and increases sensitivity in women. Additionally, exercise boosts stamina and endurance, which are essential for prolonged and satisfying sexual encounters.

Long story short, individuals who work out regularly often find that they can engage in sexual activities for longer periods without experiencing fatigue, leading to a more fulfilling experience for both partners.

But, other than sex itself, what types of exercises can improve your sex life?

Engaging in specific types of exercises can have a profound impact on your sexual health and performance. Pelvic floor exercises, such as Kegels, are particularly beneficial. Essentially, a Kegel exercise involves contracting and relaxing the pelvic floor muscles, which support the bladder, bowel, and for women, the uterus, to strengthen them and improve control over these muscles. These exercises strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, enhancing control over these muscles and increasing the intensity of orgasms for both men and women.

Strength training is another critical component. Building muscle strength, especially in the core and lower body, can improve your ability to perform and sustain various sexual positions. Stronger muscles also contribute to overall stamina, allowing for more vigorous and enjoyable sexual activities. Moreover, strength training can boost testosterone levels, which is essential for maintaining a healthy libido and sexual function.
